Browns BrightonBrowns Brighton is a much-loved and characterful institution of this buzzing seaside city. That’s partly because it’s the very first Browns and has been here since 1973.
But it’s also because we are in such a fantastic location: close to the theatre, in the middle of Brighton’s vast shopping opportunities, halfway between the sea and the railway station and next to the famous lanes.

Bill Bryson even mentions Browns Brighton in his famous book Notes From a Small Island where he recommended it as an excellent place to stop in for some food and a coffee.
Uniquely, the bar and restaurant are in two separate buildings, a couple of doors away from one another. In between the two is high-end interior retailer, Heals.
The restaurant opens for breakfast at 10am 7 days a week and serves a menu of light snacks, afternoon tea, coffees and teas throughout the day, as well as drinks. The bar opens at 11am every day.
We have a cosmopolitan and varied crowd coming through our doors. Relax with a drink or a coffee, or linger over dinner: it’s a great way to spend time people-watching in this town full of interesting characters.
