About Old Jewry
Old Jewry is at the heart of the financial district in London, and we welcome many business people through our doors. We open at 7am every weekday and we’re a popular choice for breakfast and lunch meetings, as well as after dinner drinks and de-briefs.
But this part of London also has its fair share of visitors. It’s filled with amazing buildings, museums and art galleries, such as the Bank of England Museum, which tells the story of the bank from its foundation in 1694 to its central role today. The museum has plenty of learning resources and interactive displays for children too.
St Paul’s Cathedral is an amazing building; the masterpiece of Britain’s most famous architect, Sir Christopher Wren, it’s at least the fourth to have stood on the site and was built between 1675 and 1710. You can climb the dome to the Whispering Gallery – incredibly, a whisper on one side can be heard clearly 100 feet away!
30 St Mary Axe, more commonly known as ‘The Gherkin’, is also at the centre of the financial district and is London’s first environmentally progressive working environment. It has 41 floors, 360° panoramic views and stands 180 metres high.
The Guildhall Art Gallery incorporates London’s Roman Amphitheatre, where crowds would once have gathered to watch wild animal fights, public executions and gladiatorial combats. The gallery has some impressive exhibitions, talks and tours – and admission is free.
This is a fascinating part of London. Come and join us for drinks, dinner, cocktails and to enjoy our fantastic live pianist who plays every Saturday.
