Glasgow is a vibrant, pulsing city – buzzing with live music, comedy, days out, clubs, sports and theatres.
There are more than 20 museums and art galleries, many of them offering free admission. The Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum is a hugely popular attraction with 22 themed galleries and interactive displays. The collections are extensive, and feature natural history, armour and art.
The Tenement House gives an amazing insight into life in Glasgow in the early 20th century. It’s a faithfully restored four room house, with authentic gas lighting and a predominantly brown, dank décor.
The shopping here is second only to the West End of London. The Style Mile is a square mile in the centre of Glasgow with a concentration of designer and flagship stores for British and international retailers. And if you love music and browsing independent record shops, you’ll love this city – music is an integral part of Glasgow’s culture.
The Lighthouse houses a number of exhibitions that celebrate Glasgow’s most famous architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. You could also investigate Mackintosh’s Glasgow on a City Walking Tour – or learn about the contemporary arts scene and the creative regeneration of the city.
And of course, a tour around a Scottish castle and whisky distillery isn’t exactly out of the question either….
Fashion, jewellery, art, music – plus great food, a dynamic atmosphere and a huge choice of cocktails at Browns – what’s not to love about Glasgow?
