About Leeds

Leeds is a great city with a superb range of family attractions, fantastic shops, ballet, opera, concerts, art galleries and major festivals.

Leeds Festival takes place every year at Bramham Park, delivering some of the biggest names in rock, indie, dance, alternative and hip-hop music. At Light Night in Millennium Square, many of the city’s artists and performers get together to celebrate arts and culture with exhibitions and events.

And the Leeds West Indian Carnival is a mass of colour and atmosphere as the culture, history and achievements of the West Indian population is celebrated.

Leeds Art Gallery is near Browns on the Headrow and offers a range of Henry Moore’s work and a superb programme of temporary exhibitions. It’s ‘probably the best collection of 20th century art outside London’ (John Russell Taylor, The Times).

The keenest of shoppers will find designer stores, high street brands, vintage markets and independent boutiques in Leeds. The Victoria Quarter houses more than 75 leading designer shops and there are often vintage, craft, food and record fairs under the stunning domed roof of the Corn Exchange.

Just a few miles outside the city centre, Harewood House & Gardens is one of the treasure houses of England with over 100 acres of gardens to explore, as well as a number of exotic and rare bird species.

There’s so much to see and do here in Leeds – but make sure you fit in a visit to Browns and enjoy delicious food, a great atmosphere and the very best cocktails in town!
