It’s been 45 years since the first Browns restaurant and bar opened its doors in the seaside town of Brighton. We were delighted that our guests loved our brasserie as much as we did and proudly opened more new restaurants in university towns such as Cambridge, Oxford and Bristol.
A lot has happened since 1973, but we’re proud to have remained committed to our history and heritage of sourcing the finest seasonal products from great British suppliers. Our classic seasonal food and signature cocktails can now be enjoyed all over the country in venues that are quintessentially British and rich in heritage.
We’ve stayed true to our roots, and have played host to thousands of breakfasts, brunches, lunches, afternoon teas, and dinner parties up and down the country. We’ve made our home in numerous unique landmark buildings, hand picked for their historic or national interest and stunning surroundings. We believe our history is beautiful, and we’d love to celebrate it with you on our Birthday.

Spend the afternoon celebrating 45 years of Browns, with our exquisite traditional afternoon tea. Our talented chefs are marking our birthday milestone with a nod to all things British, meaning you can enjoy a sumptuous selection of afternoon tea delights every day between 3pm and 5:30pm.
With prices starting from only £15.95 per person, our afternoon tea features a selection of generously filled brioche rolls, home baked buttermilk scones with clotted cream & jam, and a selection of mini desserts, including Victoria Sponge, Elderflower & gin posset, and salted caramel profiteroles.

It’s been 45 years since the first Browns opened in Brighton, and as the first bar to bring cocktails to the high-street, we’re proud to have mastered the craft, mix and serve of the perfect cocktail.
Take a moment to savour the sweet, sour, fruity and dry flavours of the refreshing ‘Brighton Rocks’, or the ‘Hedgerow G&T’ which balances citrus and tart with blackberries and lemon. Toast the evening in style with the luscious ‘Summer Berry Fizz’ which mixes bright and fruity Moët Chandon Impérial, with a gorgeous selection of fresh berries.
At Browns, we understand the importance of using only quality fresh ingredients in our classic seasonal dishes. Our new summer menu incorporates the best flavours of British summertime, and has been created especially for our 45th birthday celebration.
Escape the everyday, and delve into an exciting range of seasonal starters including the Smoked duck salad, or Pan seared scallops with black pudding and raspberries. Our brand new selection of mains includes the Prawn & crab linguine, Summer beet salad (VE), Lobster risotto, and plenty more.
