A warm welcome awaits you at Browns Manchester.

Browns in Manchester is located within the converted Athenaeum, formerly one of the city’s most famous pubs, and originally the imposing banking hall of Parrs Bank. Designed by Charles Heathcote in 1902, it’s a stunning example of Edwardian baroque architecture with some beautiful art nouveau detailing, particularly in the wrought iron work present throughout our iconic building.

We’re in the perfect location for a spot of brunch in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, only a 3-minute walk from Manchester Arndale, which means that we’re one of the easiest to reach and best places to eat in Manchester following a visit to the shops nearby. We’re also a 5-minute walk from the Royal Exchange Theatre, should you wish to indulge in some pre-show drinks, or even wish to dine with us. Or you could always take a trip to see the Alan Turing Memorial in Sackville park, which is only 9-minutes away.

Whatever you choose to do, feel free to join us for a relaxing, brasserie brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner in the heart of Manchester’s city centre. Or, if you don’t fancy a meal, our expert, friendly teams will look after you in our stylish cocktail bar area, where you can enjoy a finely crafted cocktail (or two), a glass of fine wine or Champagne, and graze on some delicious bar snacks. However you spend your time in our Manchester restaurant, you can be certain it will be time well spent.
