Tell us about your career journey…
I started with Ember Inns when I finished studying at Uni - I fell in love with hospitality and was working with a great team and area manager who saw something in me and helped me to develop my talents to become a district trainer. I went on to develop further and become a GM with Ember Inns and I worked really hard to turn around a business, develop my team and deliver an all green scorecard. From there I went on to work for Browns as a GM - I love this brand! We are so lucky, as we are such a small brand the community is really tight and it feels like you're working with one big family. You are given the trust and autonomy to grow and develop your business and your ideas are listened to by the brand team - I love that we can get involved in the development of our brand.

Diego Caballero - Head Chef, Browns Brighton
Why did you want to work for Browns?
When I first moved to this country I started my career with Browns as a Kitchen Porter. I loved the high standards and professionlism of Browns, this combined with my natural passion for food gave me an opportunity to go further and my Head Chef took me under his wing and spent time developing and training me. I developed under my Head Chef who was brilliant and I went on to become a Head Chef myself, I have now also been promoted to Accredited Head Chef which means I support all the Head Chefs and businesses in my area too. There is so much to learn in Browns and you are always given the opportunity to go further if you are prepared to work for it.
