Hear from some of our team on why they chose to work for Browns, and what they love most about their job.
I wanted to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and Browns was absolutely that! I love the multi-layered management that Browns offers which allows me the time to develop and train my management team. I feel Browns attracts some of the best people from the industry and I feel really lucky to be in a role that challenges me but also the people challenge me. Every day is so different and I love the variation of my job - it's really rewarding.
I started with Ember Inns when I finished studying at Uni - I fell in love with hospitality and was working with a great team and area manager who saw something in me and helped me to develop my talents to become a district trainer. I went on to develop further and become a GM with Ember Inns and I worked really hard to turn around a business, develop my team and deliver an all green scorecard. From there I went on to work for Browns as a GM - I love this brand! We are so lucky, as we are such a small brand the community is really tight and it feels like you're working with one big family. You are given the trust and autonomy to grow and develop your business and your ideas are listened to by the brand team - I love that we can get involved in the development of our brand.
Challenging / Fun / Hectic (in the best possible way!)
The really busy ones! When it's really crazy and we absolutely nail it! Nothing better than that.
The people. I just love training and developing my team to be successful - its magical to be part of.
My team are fabulous. They are highly skilled and highly engaged. The best part is that I have been lucky enough to help them to develop their potential to where they are now. Every one of my management team have come through the ranks and have been promoted there. I love how they all represent our business and service ethics as well as our standards - they really are amazing!
When I first moved to this country I started my career with Browns as a Kitchen Porter. I loved the high standards and professionlism of Browns, this combined with my natural passion for food gave me an opportunity to go further and my Head Chef took me under his wing and spent time developing and training me. I developed under my Head Chef who was brilliant and I went on to become a Head Chef myself, I have now also been promoted to Accredited Head Chef which means I support all the Head Chefs and businesses in my area too. There is so much to learn in Browns and you are always given the opportunity to go further if you are prepared to work for it.
Committed / Engaging / Love of food
I love that this is not just a job - it’s a career. I'm completing a Level 2 food apprenticeship and it's something I encourage all of my team to get involved with. I love that no day is the same and there is always something new to learn and always someone new to train.
My team are awesome guys - we really are a family. They have high standards and love what they do. I always do my best to teach them everything that I know to help them develop to the best they can be. We respect each other and we appreciate each other - we're not perfect but we always strive to be the best team in Browns!
I loved the look of Browns - its visually appealing - big and British and exactly the kind of place I wanted to work.
I started with Browns on dispense and I quickly started to learn the ropes as I am very passionate about drinks.

I love looking after the guests and the team - it’s the most important thing to me. I love the challenge and variety that this job offers me - we are always doing new things. We are very successful and I love rising to any target set me and doing well off the back of it.
My team are brilliant. The are really experienced so you can always learn something new from them - if you don’t know the answer then you know one of the team probably will! Everyone works really hard and is passionate about what they do, not only that we really work as amazing team. Everyone is really flexible and supportive to help get the job done.
I was first attracted to the brand by its look and feel - I see it as being one of the top brands, the design and décor is amazing and the uniform is really good too.
I started off working for Premium Country Pubs then moved over to Browns and have never looked back. I really love working for this brand and am currently working on my dvelopment to get to Assistant Manager and I have my sights set firmly on being a GM in the future.
